Shane Netherton

Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Netherton joined Heart of America Group in May 2026 as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the company’s financial operations, including accounting, treasury and lender relationships, tax, budgeting and forecasting, and capital planning, along with oversight of risk management, and information technology. He also leads financial reporting, audit, and tax coordination, and partners with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives, new project development, and overall organizational performance.
Mr. Netherton brings over two decades of financial leadership experience across private equity-backed platforms, multi-entity organizations, and complex operating environments. Before joining Heart of America Group, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Bernau Capital Partners.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Netherton served as Chief Financial Officer for Stine Seed Company and held senior finance leadership roles in higher education. He began his career in public accounting with BKD, LLP.
Mr. Netherton is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from McPherson College and a Master of Business Administration from Emporia State University.
