After graduating Drake University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance in 2014, Mr. Van Deest joined Heart of America as a property accountant in May of 2015.
In 2018 he moved to construction accounting, where he is responsible for accounting and budgeting of all new builds and remodels of our hotel, restaurant and retail properties. Over the years his responsibilities have grown to also include fixed asset management, property tax management, property accountant training and assistance for year-end closings and audits.
