Personal Highlights:
In 2016, my wife and I purchased a 55,000-square-foot abandon warehouse near downtown Des Moines and transformed it into a vibrant small business hub called The Barnum Factory. The space successfully hosted a diverse mix of tenants—including coffee shops, tattoo parlors, and even a couple churches, creating a dynamic community gathering place. We owned and operated The Barnum Factory until selling the business in June 2025. One of my favorite projects came In 2022, when my wife, kids, and I built and began operating a haunted house that’s open only on weekends in October. Originally named Barnum’s Circus of Freaks. We had to change the name after the original Barnum & Bailey Circus threatened us with a copyright infringement lawsuit. We’ll have a new name this coming fall.
I am happy to have joined the Heart of America team and begin a new chapter in my career.

When not working, I spend a lot of time with my kids, my wife and my cousins who live here as well. I enjoy riding my motorcycle with my wife and playing volleyball on the weekends. Interesting / shocking fact: between my wife and I, we have 10 kids. Six mine and four hers. We enjoy the last ones still at home.

Personal Highlights:
When not at work most of my time is allocated to the running of two stores in Dallas Center, one a boutique antique/gift store and the other an art gallery and concert venue. I enjoy cooking and deep-sea fishing (not easy to do in Iowa), but the building of custom (commissioned) furniture takes up the remainder of my free time anyway.
